Announcing updates to +RFID product compatibility with Bluesight’s Kitcheck inventory management system.
Dear +RFID Customer,
We understand and appreciate your commitment to RFID technology as an early adopter. With over
20 +RFID pre-tagged medications available, and more to come, Fresenius Kabi shares your
enthusiasm for the future of RFID and its potential to enhance safety and efficiency in hospital
pharmacies and beyond.
Recently, we were informed by Bluesight, one of many RFID system providers, that moving forward,
their KitCheck system will only read our +RFID products if we remove two key pieces of information
from our tags – the Lot Number and the Expiration Date. This would force Bluesight competitors
who are currently reading this information directly from +RFID products, into costly and complex
interfaces to retrieve this information or ask customers to manually enter this data.
We believe that this requirement undermines competitive practice and limits the usability of our
products by all vendors, therefore, we cannot comply with Bluesight’s request. Our commitment to
GS1 standards ensures that our +RFID products are accessible to all vendors and customers,
fostering an environment of open standards and interoperability just like the 1D and 2D barcodes on
our products today.

If you wish to continue using Fresenius Kabi’s +RFID products, we encourage you to contact
Bluesight customer service at help@bluesight.com or call 844-548-2432. Let them know that you
want to have the choice in what RFID products you purchase.
Best regards,
Fresenius Kabi US
